On February 22, 2025, the Georgian Cultural and Educational Center of Southern California hosted a roundtable event bringing together our Georgian Youth Academy’s high-school-age students (15+) students and Georgian students from UCLA. This inspiring discussion covered everything from the college admissions process and financial aid to choosing a major and navigating college life.
This event marks the beginning of our new initiative aimed at connecting young members of our community with Georgian students and professionals in the U.S., providing them with guidance, mentorship, and resources for their academic and career paths.
Our students had the opportunity to hear firsthand experiences, ask questions, and gain valuable insights to help them on their journey. Huge thanks to our advisor Maia Mdinaradze for facilitating the discussion and to our UCLA participants for sharing their knowledge and supporting the next generation of Georgian students in the U.S.!
We look forward to more events that strengthen our community and empower our youth. Stay tuned for future initiatives!
გასულ კვირას, ლოს ანჯელესში გაიმართა შეხვედრა ჩვენს ცენტრთან არსებული ქართული ახალგაზრდული აკადემიის უფროსკლასელებსა და კალიფორნიის უნივერსიტეტის / UCLA-ს ქართველ სტუდენტებს შორის.
მრგვალი მაგიდის ფორმატში გამართული დისკუსია მოიცავდა უნივერსიტეტში ჩარიცხვის პროცესს (აპლიკაციების მომზადების მნიშვნელოვან დეტალებს), ფინანსური დახმარების მოპოვების გზების მოძიებას, სპეციალობის არჩევასა და კამპუსზე სტუდენტურ ცხოვრებას.
ჩვენმა მოსწავლეებმა მიიღეს ფასდაუდებელი რჩევები და გამოცდილება უშუალოდ მათგან, ვინც უკვე გადის ამ გზას.
ეს შეხვედრა გახლდათ სამხრეთ კალიფორნიაში მოქმედი ქართული ცანტრის ახალი პროექტის, “Building Generational Bridge Among Georgian Americans” სასტარტო ღონისძიება, რომელმაც ყველა მოლოდინს გადააჭარბა! განსაკუთრებული მადლობა UCLA-ს ქართველ სტუდენტებს მხარდაჭერისთვის და მომავალი თაობისთვის ცოდნის გაზიარებისთვის!
ამ ახალი პროექტის მიზანი გახლავთ ახალგაზრდა თაობებს შორის კავშირის გაძლიერება/ გამყარება.
ადგილობრივ დიასპორაში ამ მიმართულების განვითარებით დაინტერესების შემთხვევაში გვადევნეთ თვალყური და გახდით ჩვენი მომავალი ღონისძიებების მონაწილე!
